Internships at SIFT

SIFT is looking for exceptional graduate or advanced undergraduate internships, or longer-term post-docs, graduate researchers, and even visiting scientists. While we are open to summer (3 month) internships, we prefer durations from 6-12 months or more.

SIFT conducts a wide variety of contract-funded research on AI and human-centered systems, with current projects ranging from autonomous spacecraft systems to formal verification to agent-based systems and cyber-security.  Other projects emphasize neurophysiological processes, and human language and social processes.

Past SIFT interns have praised the range of development opportunities their internships offered, including opportunities to take a leading role in the design, implementation, and evaluation of applications, as well as roles in proposal preparation and even program management. SIFT encourages publication, and much of our work is suitable for dissertation research. We offer interested applicants the opportunity to contact previous interns to compare notes.

Employment Restrictions

Due to the nature of our contract work, positions at SIFT are generally limited to US citizens or permanent residents.
