Computational Social Science

Computational Social Science combines social science and computer science in order to study social phenomena with new computational methodologies.  SIFT’s topic foci are areas like (but not limited to):

  • Team Dynamics
  • Gender Bias
  • Moral Reasoning
  • Cultural Modeling
  • Social Sensing

We analyze these topics in complex ways using methods like text analysis, web scraping, data mining and machine learning, in order to model, simulate and understand behavioral relationships and interactions on a micro- and macro-scale.
